Once you have a substitute teaching permit/ a 30-day substitute teacher permit allows you to work as a substitute for no more than 30 days for any one teacher during the school year or no more than 20 days in a school year for a special education teacher.
You can apply to substitute teaching jobs at edjoin.org. I applied to a district with middle schools and elementary schools. Once you get the position, you can choose the subjects you want to teach. Since I wanted to work the most possible, I signed up for all subjects and grades.
